Trinidad and Tobago, a twin-island nation in the Caribbean, has a population of about 1.5 million people. Its people are called Trinidadians and Tobagonians, or simply Trinbagonians. The country is known for its cultural diversity, with people of African, Indian, European, Chinese, and Indigenous descent. English is the official language, and many also speak Trinidadian or Tobagonian Creole. The culture is vibrant and expressive, with music, dance, and festivals playing a major role—especially Carnival, calypso, soca, and steelpan music. Most Trinbagonians are Christian or Hindu, with Islam also practiced. The country values family, community, and lively cultural traditions.
